Open Shortest Path first may be defined as the routing protocol which is used for routing in case of Internet Protocol networks. In order to perform the routing in an efficient manner, the algorithm of link state routing is used. The OSPF falls into the category of interior gateway routing protocol and it operates with the use of the single autonomous system. OSPF has been used for a long time and is much popular in the enterprises (Thorenoor, SG, 2010). On the other hand, Enhanced Interior Gateway Routing Protocol (EIGRP) may be defined as a routing protocol which runs on the advanced distance vector which cab be used for the purpose of automating the routing decisions and enables configuration within the network.
In this report we are going to discuss about the configuration of the OSPF and EIGRP in order to set up an infrastructure for the Central Somerset. The subset scheme which is used for the purpose of creation of Subscript with be discussed. We will be discussing the designing and the implementation of the network traffic which is routed in between the two different kinds of routing protocols.
Process of Routing in OSPF
In order to do the routing process effectively the traffic is routed by a process which is titled as the redistribution. In order to ensure that the redistribution is done in a proper manner Multi area OSPF is used which easily configures the required files. The design and the implementation of the network in case of a Somerset is done by using the concept of Packet Tracer. The network consists of a number of switches such as the nice Cisco 2811 routers while one cisco 3560 switch. In addition to this, on either end of the network there are two different hosts. The network connectivity is established in the hosts by using the ‘ping’ command.
