No, the case does not represent the effective public relations practice as the problem when started, and it was neglected by the management which could be dealt at early stages the global image of the company would have been saved. The advertisements of any brand are the life line of that product and if the product does not comply with the features highlighted in the advertisements, the image of the product and the organization will be affected. The role of effective public relations is to be in touch with the consumers through distributers and sales men. A consistent strategy should be followed by public relations department to know the market position of the product. The image of the company has to be restored after negative publicity by adopting various measure of doing product promotional shows with the certifications of quality standards of standards associations. The company has to develop strategies to make the product more effective, not only in terms of quality but also by having a new and improved image in the eyes of the consumers (Jaques, 2008). The image consultants’ should be hired for making effective strategies for improving the image of the company globally. When the company is working globally the consumers of each company should be dealt differently as per their region, country, city & area etc. (Ledingham, 1998).

This case provides a lesson to the company to keep its communication channels very effective and open for all so that as and when a problem arises it can be solved before it becomes a major problem and harm the global image of the company.
