In cross- cultural environments, especially in business and organizations, is the way of criticism. It is a real challenge in a business organization to make criticism in such a way that the counterpart understands the gist of issue and point of criticism. If criticism is made in an inappropriate manner, it may lead to misinterpretation by the counterpart and thus declining the issue. People from different cultural background have different styles of criticizing their fellows on certain issues. In one of the healthy ways of criticizing, the first step is to settle with the counterpart on some points of the issue, then present one’s own idea or perspective about the issue. In this way, the counterpart also pays positive consideration in the presented idea or perspective.

Orientation of working style
There are two types of working styles observed in working environments. The first approach is relational-oriented work style, and the second is task-oriented working style.
The first type of work style, that is relational-oriented, refers to the style which is focused of relational factors in completing a particular task. The focused elements in this work style are: role of personal relationships and thorough explanations in presentations and seminars. According to Yukl (2006), the relational-oriented work style put great consideration in socio emotional elements. In this working style, accomplishments are regarded are recognized, employees are given confidence of completing the task, employees are continuously encouraged to perform the task and they are kept informed about all the aspects of the work.
Oppositely, in task-oriented work style, completion of task and structure of performing task is given more importance than encouragement and other socio-emotional factors. Task-oriented work style concentrates on completion of task on time, fulfilment of responsibilities by the entire involved workforce, monitoring the operations and resource management (Yukl, 2006). Both the work styles influence the individuals’ performance based on cultural backgrounds.
