It was a story of a child who had the body of an old man when he was born. Over the years as the child grew up his body started growing younger. Scott (2008) highlighted in the movie, Benjamin’s father approached his younger, old son to disguise himself, in order to appear younger and help avoid embarrassment to his family (P.5). His mother in the film bought him several playing games and he was forced to play with them, despite having more desires pertaining to his adolescence. The story progressed as he matured in age and became younger, travelled round the world, participated and fought in warfare, and he also went to school during the latter half of his life rather than the beginning. However the plot was clinching and made the audience watch the movie with utmost interest till the end.
The Curious Case of Benjamin Button was an interesting story of contradictions, which happened both internally and externally in Benjamin’s body and mind. I was completely drawn into the emotional tale that held at the arm’s length from becoming too invested. The main character is a contradiction by its role and description and the boy who was born old aged in a reverse manner. Benjamin was a person who belonged to this world but not in the natural form.
