It is always a situation of dilemma for a software engineer when it comes to uncover the security vulnerabilities of the software because on one hand the information will be helpful for the designers as they can avoid the same mistake in future whereas on other hand the unauthorized people will come to know about the ways to attack the system. The next most important decision is about the set of people whom the information should be disclosed. It is a confidential information and hence should be disclosed only to the people who are directly related to it like Software companies and system designers, security investigators, business customers and end users (Baca & Petersen, 2013). The other very important point is to decide on the time of disclosure i.e. the time when the information could be leaked. The time should be chosen as per the situation i.e. the information could be told immediately or it could be told once the vulnerability is taken care or when the system designers have sufficient time to fix the issue.
