Various overseas organizations believe that instead of competing with the Chinese firms, they should compete with the Chinese state. And the reason behind why they believe so is the China’s central and local governments possess around 100,000 organizations and they unreservedly support them. Even though, the WTO has ensured the overseas companies that the Chinese state would no longer compel them to relinquish their technology to them for the purpose of entering in the Chinese market. However, various overseas companies are still under pressure to do so. Moreover, for the purpose of promoting its local firms, China would be imposing its own technological principles, for instance, the technological standards it imposed for the 3G mobile phones.
It should be noted that WTO’s membership with China is of huge importance. Over the last few years, China’s position within global economic fraternity has been vividly recognized. The affiliation WTO has certainly prove to be a highly beneficial factor for China and has helped to serve various social and economic changes and has helped to effectively form stipulations that are helpful for global trade. By facilitating the Chinese leaders in representing china as an economically and politically competitive nation in the world will not only help the world trade organization to further enhance their own self-confidence for the purpose of overseeing the global trade matters but it wll also enhance the optimism of the Chinese people in their leaders. The attainment of the world trade organization’s membership may not only urge the Chinese leaders to implement democratic reforms but it may also urge them to convince their people to adhere their leaders in making continuing political transformations in China so that a more democratic government can be formed by them. The foremost aim of the Chinese leaders in this regard would be to make china’s political control secure because if the Chinese leaders would be able to secure their political control then it would facilitate them in not only advancing China but in also accomplishing the ambitions of the Chinese people as well. The Four features of the World Trade Organization membership which should be noted in this regard are:
- Tariff should be decreased
- Non-tariff obstacles to industrial goods should be eradicated
- Import quota of agricultural goods should be increased and all import quotas should be eradicated as well
- Quotas on China’s export of textile and clothing to developed countries should be ended.
