The continuous drive taken for making the clothing, even more attractive is highly responsible towards creation of the finest along with costly trimming, which is known as classic lace (Earnshaw, 1985). Lace making is referred as an ancient craft, and its first steps were taken in the Pharaohs land that use flax cloth, which was decorated through the colored threads and worked with the help of geometric designs (Earnshaw, 1985). Lace is popularly known as the significant embellishment in the designs, and holds the rich history in the European regions. There are mainly two types of lace, which depict the techniques of evolution of lace making (Earnshaw, 1985).
In this research, long history related with lace is discussed. Data is collected in the literature review section conveying about the lacework, which gives the soul and mood through the support of set of themes, materials, colors, and silhouettes (Earnshaw, 1985). For conducting the research and analysis, previous collection of the designers is used for preparing the development of lace-making. The aim of introducing chapter is to give background information about lace making and its use in different centuries. This chapter outlines the aims and objectives, scope, and research methodology.
