Interior design is basically the process or art of designing interiors of a building or room, how the interior can be decorated, how to decorate items in room so that it may look graceful. These all are included in the interior design (Pile, 2003). If one sees the past of interior designing, one will notice that interiors were place together naturally as a type of building process. Interior design as a profession has been an outcome of the tortuous architecture and the society’s development that has emerged from the growth of processes of industries. Throughout the whole seventeenth and eighteenth century, and the beginning of nineteenth century, the design of interior was a major concern for those who wanted to construct a house, a recruited upholsterer who would guide on the creative design of interior space (Harry, 1994).
The chosen interior space is of a store. It was created by a Japanese designer named Yusuke Hara. The design was created in 2009. Hara received Grand prize in the category of Interior Design at World Space Creators Awards. This design was a proposal for establishing an interior space for store where various brands can combine harmoniously with each other while keeping their own identity at the same time. It involves the perspective laws to determine size of the fixtures of display, so that whenever a visitor positions at display’s focal point, he is surrounded by just a one particular brand (Neumeyer, 1991). The entrance was designed so beautifully and in a way that it gives a clear and broader view of every section of the store. So this justifies the theory of Stanley Abercrombie that the entrance is very much important to give an edge to the interior space (Archicentral, 2015).
