White Rabbit art Gallery Sydney, Australia is a specialized gallery showcasing contemporary Chinese art. The gallery focuses on works produced on or after 2000.Judith and Kerr Neilson are the founders of the gallery.
The White Rabbit gallery provides a thrilling introduction to the diverse and powerful contemporary art practiced in China, displaying works in new and old media including painting, sculpture, animation, new media and installation. The works featured explore China’s briskly changing society, from Mao’s oppressive regime to the China’s rapid economic boom. The participating artists in the actively increasing roster includes names such BaiYiluo, Yan Baishen and Shi Jindian.
The gallery as discussed earlier not only displays traditional artworks like paintings and sculptures but also displays other new age forms of expression like animation and installation. I was awestruck by the quality of hand craft, which used things from the daily life to create and send a powerful message. Some of the photographs were also interesting such as the image of a whole city with a giant rabbit.
