Human resources: Leadership is something which can’t be developed all of a sudden and one needs to be versatile. Effective leadership does not happens by chance and the leader need to have good human resources. The leaders within the organization must develop a system where the HR can initiate development programs.
Creation of self-awareness: One needs to identify his or her individual strengths and weakness, personality traits, personal values and beliefs, emotions and the psychological needs which can help to drive our behavior. After the identification of one’s own strength and weakness, one needs to check which are good and which are bad. The self exploration helps one to identify himself and develop the values of leadership within them such as authenticity, trustworthiness and being genuine (Daft, 2014).
Action based learning: Learning in the present time is reflected based when it is action based. A person can’t become a leader just by reading books and going to class. It is something which is needed to be executed in real life. In order to do the same, one has to fall through real business problems and look for the solutions of the same.
Building Networks: One of the important requirement for the leader is to build effective network, to connect to the people from different areas and functions. It is important in order to prevent the stagnancy during work and to break down the work into different functions and to encourage the employees to make commitment to the people outside the organization. By establishing the strong ties with a number of organization is helpful (Bolman, 2011).
Role Modeling: A leader needs to develop certain qualities by which he or she can become a role model for the people. They provide important information, support and challenge the followers and influence them.
