This research subject has been chosen due to the consistent inefficiencies experienced by most organizations in the fashion industry while developing a new product with regard to issues present in the supply chain (Barnes 2006). The research will initiate by analyzing different appropriate theories in relation to fashion industry keeping the main focus on the supply chain strategy impact. For getting a wider view and for appropriate and credible information, journal articles will be used. Then, this paper will formulate the presence of only those theory choices that have relevance to the research question (Brun et al 2008). For answering the question of research and for meeting the objectives, deductive method has been applied. This method initiated from general concepts and general theoretical framework moving towards particular theories with regard to specific circumstances.
The deduction of the conclusion will therefore take place from the general conceptions discussed. The connection and collaboration of all the theories with the findings on empirical basis will help in formulating the Analysis and Conclusions (Nagurney 2012). There are 3 main organizations chosen for studying the research questions that will act as case studies. These organizations are Zara, H and M and Marks and Spencer’s (Brun et al 2008). The selection of these 3 companies has taken place as these three clearly have depicted the influences of supply chain on new product development in the fashion industry and have also managed to succeed by counterfeiting the influences. The case studies will help in understanding the supply chain influence that are either negative or positive on new product development in fashion industry.
