This is an annotated bibliography on critical thinking. The topic is about “Whether should children learn a second language at an early age.” The chosen hypothesis is ‘Children should learn second languages at around 3-5 years old because it is better for them to start at earlier age. Their brains are like white paper and they are able to learn a second language easily.’ Citation 1: Colin Baker-Key Issues In Bilingualism and Bilingual Education (Multilingual Matters 35)-Mulitlingual Matters, Ltd. (1988)In this article Colin has discussed the key points related to bilingualism and bilingual education which are focus discussion and consideration areas for teachers, parents and different people. These are concerns related to suffering among the children and their education because of bilingualism and discussion if with proper motivation and right attitude bilingualism can be supported (Colin, 1988).

The author has collected the information through different sources who are writers for this discussion topic and aims at presenting different aspects of this consideration with comparative analysis. The write-up focuses on different methods to compare the bilingualism, bilingual education and motivation & support towards attaining this knowledge. This article is useful in supporting the fact that the bilingual students show increased level of social sensitivity in situation where verbal communication is required. As there is much complexity involved in language system the sensitivity hypothesis involved in using the ability of utilizing more enhanced symbolic background which can be used to separate out the different kind of emotions by bilingual students. The main limitation of the write-up is that the cognitive skills and intelligence are not aligned directly with the bilingualism. The writer needs to present his inclination towards one side to get his point more clear. This is definitely a good write-up in supporting my hypothesis of early training of children towards multilingualism.
