The  pressure  of  taxes  on  the peasant  had  been  one  of  the  most  intolerable  factor,  which  were  being  collected  to finance  the  war  against  France.  The  violent  revolt  exploded  with  the  collection  of  unpaid  poll  taxes , with  an  attempt  of  John  Bampton ,  a  royal  official  on  June  30th  1381.  This  was  a  point  where  the  patience  of  peasant  was  over  and  they  stood  up  in  protest  and  started  off  by  burning  records  of  the  court  and  sabotaging  official  buildings.  They  demanded   reduction  in  tax  pressure,  fair  and  equal  labor  policies  and   demolishing  of  King’s  law  court  and  senior  officials.  The  revolt  was  more  or  less  the result  of  economic  and  social  turmoil.  The  population  growth  of  14th  century  put  extreme  pressure on  the  agriculture  land  available,  enhancing  the  power  concentration  in  the  hand  of  land  owners.  The  wave  of  Black  Death  in  1348,  wiped  out  the  population  at  large,  killing  almost  fifty  percent  of  the  population.  England  faced  an  economic  setback,  with  decline  in  labor  population (due  to killing  of peasant),  so  as  the  rule  of economy,  the  lesser  supply  of  labors  gave  rise  to  the  chance  of  increase  in  wage  rate,  ultimately  the  profit  of  the  landowners  declined  dramatically  and  disintegration  has  been  observed  among  financial  network ,  trade  and  commerce.
