Theories of Decision making: decision making is a process of selecting the best option from the available options according to the conditions of the market and the organization. Broadly there are two theories in decision making process. Firstly it is Organizational Process model; it states that decisions in an organization are based on the type of procedures and system being followed in the organization. The process and standard operating procedure (SOP) remains the key of decision making in the organizations (Crichton, 2009). Second important theory of decision making is Rationality in decision making, means that decisions are taken in the organization on rationality but rationality should be followed with few steps i.e. all relevant information about the problem must be gathered from all possible sources then a proper analysis must be done of the information collected and each alternative must be evaluated properly in terms of its consequences and lastly a rationale choice must be made that can help in the effective decision making which proves to be beneficial for the organization (Sumpter, 2009).

Decision making approaches: first approach in decision making is avoiding: it means avoiding the decision making or choosing an alternative from the given alternatives for the time being. This approach is adopted in the circumstances when the information available is inadequate. Potential consequences need time to be judged more intensively and giving time to competitors to take action and their results can be considered in the decision making process of the company (Choo,1996). The judgment taking authority has not taken the decision properly or the present situation is like that without taking any crucial decision the things can be worked out. Second approach to decision making is problem solving in this decision taking activity is regarded as problem solving activity and this activity is said to be completed when an effective and efficient solution is achieved.
